satin garter

Synopsis

FOR RICHER OR POORER, IN BUSINESS AND IN STEALTH.

Can IRS Special Agent Tara Holloway break up a clever ring of tax cheats who love money, dishonor the IRS, and disobey the laws of justice?

When Tara agreed to be her best friend’s maid of honor, she knew it would be a ton of work. But planning a bachelorette party is a piece of (wedding) cake compared to her latest mission for the IRS. Her target is radio host Florence “Flo” Cash, star of “The Flo Cash Cash Flow Show.” Not only has Flo been giving her listeners shady tax advice, she’s set up an elaborate barter system that leaves Uncle Sam out of the equation―and Tara tied in knots…

While Flo flouts the IRS at every turn, Tara has yet another case to tackle: a catfishing Casanova who’s relieved several lonely ladies of their cash, credit cards, and dignity. When her best friend’s big day arrives, it’s all Tara can do to keep from crying uncle. But when Tara snatches the bridal bouquet and her boyfriend Nick catches the satin garter, could Tara’s days of filing single tax returns be over?

Review

I managed to catch up on this series (was only 3 books behind!) over the past few weeks so that I could read this book that will be released on Tuesday. (thank you Netgalley for an early copy!)

I have loved this series from the very first book. It has hooked me with the witty dialogue, action and the books have even been a little educational! Many times I found myself chuckling out loud to various situations that Tara found herself in only to have my husband ask what was so funny. Sadly I couldn’t really tell him because it would take longer to set up the situation to explain a 1 liner and then he probably wouldn’t understand. Maybe he needs to read the books!

These books are also educational and provide some good tidbits about the IRS and how to not find yourself crosswise with them. Pay your taxes!

Tara and Nick are a dynamic couple and one of these days they might get hitched….only time will tell. They have their own quirks but fit together quite well. I really enjoy all of the characters in the book(s) and they just round out the storyline.

While you can read these books out of order (or read a later book without reading the first books) I don’t recommend it. Start with book 1 and work your way up to this one. You can thank me later!

We give this book (and series) 5 paws up!
