Low Water Crossing is a tribute to those who endure heartache and nevertheless celebrate, to those who wait—and live full lives while waiting.

A backhoe unearths a human skeleton buried on Wayne Cheadham’s West Texas ranch. The investigation points a grisly finger at Wayne’s first wife. And so begins the wild ride through twenty-five years of love and heartbreak.

Wayne’s a highly eligible bachelor who runs into trouble, first because he’s naïve, and next because, well, life is unpredictable. He’s a loveable guy with a peaceful outlook. Just about anyone wants the best for him, dang it. To cope with sadness, he arranges for an old steel-girded bridge to be placed in the dry pasture in front of his house. Says it helps him adjust his perspective. Others say it’s the world’s largest yard ornament. He takes in stray emus and abandoned horses and becomes a mentor to a loveable little boy without much family. He sits and ponders his plight at a low-water crossing over the creek.

A cast of characters from the fictional small West Texas town of Sulfur Gap—the staff of a high school burger shop hangout on the Interstate, coffee groups at the Navaho Café, hairstylists from the Wild Hare, a local sheriff and his deputies, and the band at the local honky-tonk—knits together the community surrounding Wayne, and all bring their own quirks. People you’d find anywhere, some with thicker Texas twangs than others.

The town, the ranch, and familiar Texas cities such as San Angelo, Abilene, and Austin provide a backdrop for universal themes of love, grief, and loyalty.

When I decided to read this book, I had no idea it was the second in the series or that I had read the first book. Granted, I had read the book 4 years ago and there have been many books between then and now. But as I was engrossed in the book, some things sounded familiar especially towards the end. That being said, you do not have to read the first book, The Lark, to fully enjoy this story.

This novel revolves around Wayne Cheadham but is told from the perspective of his three wives with brief chapters between the three to share his point of view. The novel starts off with a dead body being found on his ranch and his suspicions on how the body arrived there and when. The story then delves into his first marriage to Lucy when he was in his early 20’s and she was 17. Life was quite an adventure for them but perhaps not adventuresome enough for Lucy considering her behavior but we learn that much of this stems from the emotional abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother. I think anyone that had her mom would not have come out unscathed. As Wayne states, the best thing to come from that marriage was his son Luck.

Time moves on and Wayne is in late 20’s when he meets Cynthia and her two daughters. Cynthia has a secret that she is hiding and it could have an effect on their relationship until she confronts her past and learns the truth about what happened. I think she is good for Wayne, at least an improvement over Lucy. There are struggles with their relationship and raising their children, but somehow they make it work. There are some lessons learned by both parties which make for a stronger relationship. I found it engaging to see how the ex’s were portrayed and the interaction with the family. Cynthia’s ex is one of those guys you wouldn’t want to have around much but I appreciated the strides he made later in the book. Growth is possible!

Wayne is alone again after a tragedy strikes his family and it is about 10 years later when he meets his third wife, Lou. Lou arrives in town looking for a long lost sister after her father passes away. This is the part of the story that ties back to The Lark with her nephew, Charley. Lou has had an interesting life and despite being stuck in Oklahoma for some time, she doesn’t let that stop her from living life.  I think this part of the book was my favorite because I felt like Wayne had really grown into the man he was meant to be and was ready for a woman that was even-tempered and seemed to get him.

I enjoyed this book for the family dynamics, the strength and weaknesses of the characters, and the intricacies of a small town that make life interesting. I relished the time span as it brought me back to my younger days and I could relate to what Lucy dealt with during her youth. Life in a small town can be tough. This book made me smile and even cry a little bit, and definitely chuckle at the bridge Wayne had moved to his front yard, but overall left me with a satisfied feeling.

We give this book 4 paws up.

Synopsis

A steampunk retelling of Cinderella.

Emmeline O’Shea is determined to save the world—single-handedly, if necessary. A strong voice for societal reform, she is the natural choice to deliver a key speech at the end of the International Shifter Rights Organization’s week-long Summit in Scotland.

But when a death threat arrives at Emme’s home, she is immediately placed into protective custody, watched over by none other than her personal nemesis, Detective-Inspector Oliver Reed. The two have crossed paths many times, with disastrous results, but now they will have to work together in order to reach the Summit before midnight of the last day in order to ensure legislation is passed to protect the Shifter community.

As unseen enemies close in around Emme and Oliver, they struggle to reach Edinburgh by any means necessary, only to find Emme’s vindictive stepsister, Oliver’s vampire brother, and a dangerous political minefield awaiting them in Scotland.

Even more difficult is their own refusal to admit that the fiery animosity that once burned between them might be turning into the heat of romantic passion. Could a straitlaced policeman determined to uphold the law and an outspoken activist willing to break the rules ever find true love? Or will all their dreams shatter like glass when the clock strikes midnight?

“Once again proving that genres are made to be melded, Allen puts a suspenseful twist on this enticing, steampunk retelling of Cinderella. Allen seamlessly integrates gentle romantic tension and nods to the original fairy tale with paranormal and steampunk elements and political intrigue. This is a fun, arresting break from reality.” -Publishers Weekly

“Relocates a classic fairy tale into an imagined future packed with airships, automated carriages, vampires, and corsets. Nancy Campbell Allen’s lively reimagining of the Cinderella story features an empowered, outspoken heroine who’s driven by a vision of a more equitable, futuristic Britain.” -Foreword Reviews

Review

I have found that Steampunk books can be quite interesting. I’m not sure what it is about the setting but it feels like a combination of new and old technology, inventions, and the like.

I have read a couple of the books in this series and have enjoyed the books and this one was no different. There are a few things that liken it to Cinderella, but I feel like it is very loosely based on that fairy tale. But that is not a fault, just an observation of mine.

The story that is told is one that could fit our world today – it is about not shunning a part of society and one woman’s fight for their rights. I’m talking about shifters, humans that shift into animal form a few nights a month. Most are not violent, but as we know, a few bad apples tend to ruin it for everyone. Emme is their spokeswoman and is fighting for their rights, much to the chagrin of her family. She is definitely not a proper lady by their standards, but that is what makes her a good advocate for the shifters. It isn’t until she receives a notice to back off that the police take things seriously. Enter Detective-Inspector Oliver Reed. This isn’t their first encounter with each other and I think they each felt something for each other but have never acted upon those feelings. It takes some harrowing situations for them to admit to each other that perhaps there is something there in the romance field.

This also has an air of mystery about it because there are secrets unknown to Emme that put her in danger. There is also a wide range of characters, some loveable, some not so much. My favorite character is Gus. There is more to Gus than what meets the eye but I don’t want to spoil that surprise for anyone so you’ll have to read the book.

Others have said to read the other books in this series before this one, even though it is a standalone novel. I have read one of the others but really don’t remember much that might tie to this book. The curse of reading so much! I think this book reads fine as a standalone, but if you like steampunk novels you will want to read all of the books in her series!

We give this book 4 paws up and look forward to reading more of her works.

Synopsis

When souls intersect deeply, but their paths are separate…

After a harrowing experience from his service in the military, Matt returns only to find his marriage to the love of his life is over. In the midst of his darkness, Matt seeks peace camping in Wyoming, where he meets Nicole, an intriguing woman who shifts his perspective, and changes his life forever. As their connection deepens, their relationship uncovers the fears that are holding both of them back.

Matt isn’t the only one with an unresolved love in his past. Waiting in the wings is Sam, Nicole’s business partner and best friend. The pair have a history of more than just catering and event planning, but Nicole has always been afraid of letting Sam get too close.

In this novel of self-discovery, compassion and healing, Nicole and Matt are brought to a greater understanding and acceptance of themselves, and who they are in the world.

Praise

“The mature romance at the center of a delicate dance of souls is infused with spiritual ideas.” – Foreword Clarion Reviews

“The novel has many strengths. Readers will steadfastly follow the characters’ journey of self-discovery… detailed descriptions of the protagonists and their personalities, including imperfections, make them credible and relatable. Infused with spiritual lessons, this story about two lost souls finding their way back to themselves proves a satisfying read.” – BlueInk Review

Review

This is a novel that reaches deep inside your psyche and makes you question what you know or think you know about life and how you perceive events and other people.

Matt and Nicole meet at a campsite and are instantly drawn to each other. Is it physical or something more? Why it appears to be physical, Matt is struggling with PTSD and events that occurred while he was stationed in Iraq that have affected his life and his marriage. Nicole has her own issues from the past that has her scared of commitment with anyone else, especially a friend named Sam. Despite their pasts, this doesn’t stop Matt and Nicole from becoming involved with each other, but at the same time, Nicole is helping Matt overcome his fears with various spiritual techniques. While it may seem that the book is focused on helping Matt, Nicole has her own breakthrough. I found her description of what she was feeling and experiencing interesting.

I did wonder why Nicole and Matt continued to pursue their physical relationship despite Matt’s declarations of love for his ex-wife and Nicole’s interest in her friend Sam. Amanda, Matt’s ex-wife, is quite an amazing character with her strength considering everything that is thrown at her regarding Matt and Nicole. I don’t know if I could have done what she did, however, love does seem to conquer all.

I’m not sure about Sam despite his connection to Nicole. While we know he loved Nicole and wants her in his life, he does seem a bit passive-aggressive towards her and the situation with Matt. I was amazed that Nicole and Sam had few secrets. But perhaps that is what made them good friends and business partners.

There is a side story about two country music stars planning to marry in Cheyenne and Sam and Nicole’s role in planning that wedding. It was a nice diversion from the main storyline.

Overall, while I started this book thinking it was going to be a simple romance novel, I found it to be so much more and it encouraged me to consider the spiritual side of my life.  We give this book 4 paws up.

The Funeral Murder A PIP Inc. Mystery
Cozy Mystery
2nd in Series
Publisher: Good Read Mysteries, An Imprint of Good Read Publishers
Number of Pages: 248

Synopsis

In The Glass House, the first book in the PIP Inc. Mysteries series Pat Pirard, recently downsized Santa Cruz Law Librarian, needed to find a new job in a hurry. She printed business cards announcing she was Private Investigator Pat and crossed her fingers, hoping she could earn enough money working for attorneys as a PI to survive.

Pat’s first investigation went well, so she’s excited when she gets a call from an estate attorney who offers her a second job. The attorney tells Pat his client died at a funeral and he needs help sorting out who is entitled to inherit her estate.

Pat quickly discovers the dead woman’s past is as complicated as her estate. And when an autopsy indicates she had two deadly toxins in her body when she died, Pat’s new case becomes not only complicated, but dangerous.

Review

I enjoy this series for several reasons. Pat is a good investigator due to her experience as a law librarian, she isn’t afraid to be bold which is evidenced by her yellow car and her actions, and she has a dog.  She has a cat too, but I care more about the dog.  However, after reading this book and what happens near the end, cats aren’t all too bad.

The mystery itself is well laid out. There are obvious suspects but no clues that point to one specific character. I had a hard time deciding who the killer was out of the suspects and couldn’t guess because several had strong motives. The killer was a small surprise but several clues leading up to that moment would have pointed you in another direction.

Outside of the mystery, there was also a storyline about adoption and finding your parents. I enjoyed this as it delved into DNA and comparing reports to determine parentage. I found this to be interesting as I wonder how DNA can tell our past and makes us who were are from our hair and eye color to other traits.

The romance between Pat and Tim is moving right along in this book and while it may seem like it is fast, they seem to be well matched and there is a hint of something to come, perhaps in the next book.

Speaking of the next book, I don’t know if the little teaser phone call she received at the end of the book is the next plotline, but it certainly had me intrigued!

We give this book 4 paws up.

In case it isn’t obvious by now, Waylon Jenkins is a zombie.

He’s also one of the most highly respected and in-demand makeup artists in Hollywood, and that keeps him busy, no matter how dead he is. Review

If you are looking for a mystery short story that will make you laugh then look no further than this book.  The premise is wacky, the characters are plucky, and good overcomes bad in the end.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I opened to the first page, but finding a zombie concerned about his manhood was not one of them! And then to have Betsy Ross sewing it back on?  You know that the rest of the book is going to a scream, and not in fear but in laughter.

This story moves at a fast pace and there are multiple storylines that somewhat merge together near the end, or at least several of them do. The characters have interesting backstories but we don’t find those out until closer to the end of the story. I think some of it could have been dropped in earlier because it would have made more sense or at least the reader would have a better understanding of Waylon and Early.  I found it interesting that the police had no issue with Waylon being a zombie. But at the same time, it made him a more likely suspect.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and want to know more about the characters, how they came to be the way they are and how they came together (although we find out how Early and Waylon know each other) and will this company that is producing zombies succeed?  I also expect that the next book will have just as much humor in it and will be an enjoyable read.

We give this book 4 paws up.

Review

I wasn’t sure if I was ready to read a Christmas book in September, but this one kept me in stitches and had me dreaming of colder weather.

Riley and Mark have their own baggage to deal with and in a small town that isn’t always easy because everyone knows everyone else’s business. But it is also that small town vibe that helps Mark and Riley through their difficulties and towards each other.

Riley and Mark start off as friends on a secret project for Mark’s dad, but what evolves is so much more. I liked how Riley saw past Mark’s burn scars and saw the man within. I think it is what helps bring him back out of hiding. Mark helps Riley stop running from life and examine what she holds to be true in her life.

There are so many funny parts from their stumbling around each other and I liked how they brought up those moments even later to tease each other.

But their path towards a relationship is not smooth from a smarmy guy trying to make Riley another notch on his bedpost to misunderstandings between Mark and Riley. But each situation just helped to forge their bond in the end.

Love wins.

We give this book 4 paws up.

Review

If you are looking for a sweet romance, primarily set in Texas, that has some tension (in a good way) then you will want to check out this new book from Darlene Deluca.

This book features a children’s author, Kristen. She meets one of her biggest fans at a book signing and his uncle, Reed.  Despite a few missteps, a fast friendship is formed between Kristen and Dylan and even Kristen and Reed.  There is so much going on with Reed and Dylan, from the tragedy that took Dylan’s family to the physical limitations as he heals from the same accident. Dylan is quite a character and really rounds out this story.

What I enjoyed about this story is the depth of the characters. They all have flaws but many positive aspects to their characters. Even Reed’s crusty father who has a different mindset when it comes to kids and how they should be raised. But time and the influence of Kristen help open his eyes. Reed has his own issues and it is a huge adjustment to all of a sudden be tasked with raising a six year old when you are used to being a single guy with few responsibilities outside of work. I enjoyed watching Reed adjust, learn new skills he would need as a single parent, and realize that maybe there is more to life than becoming an executive in a large corporation. Kristen has her own issues too including adjusting to life without her mother, a brother that seems to care about nothing other than money, and her newfound success as a published author.

The budding romance between Reed and Kristen is slow but satisfying. They take the time to get to know each other before jumping to the next phase. There are some miscommunications between the two and while one of them was resolved, I was surprised that Kristen didn’t ask for more of an explanation about a conversation she overheard between Reed and his boss. Let’s just say the boss is a chauvinist and made some remarks that would be expected from that mindset. That was probably my only “complaint” about the whole book, I didn’t feel like she was given an explanation to that situation yet Reed received an explanation to what he found.

Overall a delightful book and we give this book 4 paws up.

About the Author

Books . . . chocolate . . . tea.

These are a few of my favorite things. Combine them with a sunny summer day, and perhaps a beach or pool, and call me happy!

Books have always been a part of my life, and reading has always been a favorite pastime. In my childhood bookworm days, I’d hide away for hours with Trixie Belden or Laura Ingalls Wilder. These days, I read as much as I can, making it a priority to carve out time for my latest book club read. I love curling up with a cup of tea and getting lost in a good story.

A few years ago I decided to sit down at my computer and give voice to some stories that have been rattling around in my head for a long time. That launched me into the world of fiction writing, specifically the world of romance. So far, my completed novels and works-in-progress fall into the genres of women’s fiction, contemporary romance, and mainstream with romantic elements.

My novels are about people and their relationships – what brings them together, what keeps them apart, what brings them joy or annoys the hell out of them. My intent is to bring to life interesting and ‘real’ characters that you, the reader, can relate to in real-life situations that combine a little fun, plenty of drama (with perhaps a tear or two), and big helpings of friendship, love and self-discovery, and will leave you either cheering or sighing with a satisfied smile as you turn the final page.

And just so you know . . . I like a happy ending.

Synopsis

When committed female police captain Linda Turner, haunted by the murders of two small children and their pastor father, becomes obsessed with solving the harrowing case, she finds herself wrapped up in a mission to expose a fraudulent religious organization and an unrepentant killer.

Despite her years of experience investigating homicides for the force, Captain Linda Turner is haunted by the murders of the Hansen family. The two small children, clothed in tattered Disney pajamas, were buried with their father, a pastor, in the flower garden behind a church parsonage in Lincoln, Nebraska. But Mrs. Hansen is nowhere to be found—and neither is the killer.

In St. Louis, the televangelist Ray Williams is about to lose his show—until one of his regular attendees approaches him with an idea that will help him save it. Despite his initial misgivings, Ray agrees to give it a try. He can’t deny his attraction to this woman, and besides, she’d assured him the plan is just—God gave her the instructions in a dream.

Multiple story lines entwine throughout this compelling mystery, delving into the topics of murder, religious faith, and the inherent dangers in blindly accepting faith as truth. While Reverend Williams is swept up in his newfound success and plans for his wedding, Captain Turner can only hope that she and her team will catch the Hansens’ cunning killer—before more bodies surface.

“Salvation Station is your next must-read mystery. Kathryn Schleich perfectly blends together a taut tale of murder in the church. A devilishly good tale.” —CARA LOCKWOOD, USA Today best-selling author of I Do (But I Don’t)

“Salvation Station is an edge-of-your-seat, page-turning thriller that might possibly leave you unable to sleep. This book is what we need in the world right now—a killer we can hate and a model cop we can get behind, showing us that women are as fierce as men and then some.” —MARGO DILL, Managing Editor, WOW! Review

Greed does funny things to people.

Our story starts out in Lincoln Nebraska with the discovery of several bodies.  What then follows is one police captain’s determination to find the killer no matter what it takes. The story then jumps to St Louis Missouri where another storyline begins and we eventually learn how these two different locations and events will intersect, much to one woman’s dismay.

The story spans approximately eighteen months while Captain Linda Turner hunts down clues about the suspected killer in other towns.  Because this is set in the early 2000s, there are computers and the internet, but not used to the extent that they are used today. I liked this because it reflects the depths an investigation was conducted without relying on technology.

It isn’t hard to figure out how the two stories are connected and I appreciated the work by the characters to get to the truth on both ends. I enjoyed watching the characters develop and learn what they should or shouldn’t do in certain situations with certain people. Love is blind could never be more true in this book when it came to Reverend Ray and when the truth is revealed in the end, you feel sorry for him and what he endured.

There have been news stories in the past that have depicted the corruption that could be found in a church. This story shows you how it could be done and what better reason for oversight and audits in any organization? I was amazed at the lengths the perpetrator went to in order to steal funds donated by others in good faith.

I appreciated the author putting a date and location at the beginning of each chapter and even sharing the location when a different storyline emerged. It allowed me to better picture the location in my mind and I could watch the progression of events which I believe mirrors most true investigations. They are rarely solved quickly and determination is needed to see a case through to completion.

There is a hint of a love story between Linda Turner and a detective, Malachi, from St Louis. Should this become a series, I would be interested to see how a long distance relationship is explored between these two.

There are several twists and turns near the end of the book but the ending is what one would expect considering the magnitude of the crimes.

Because of the church setting, there are many bible verses quoted and prayers said for various characters. I think this enhances the story because of the location and involvement of several characters.

For a debut novel, this author does an excellent job of telling a story and creating fascinating characters.  We give this book 4 paws up.

Synopsis

Marcie is spending her summer working on the archeological dig that her mother runs: Angel Mounds, a site of an ancient indigenous civilization. Soon after she arrives, she meets some intriguing individuals, and becomes wrapped up in a supernaturally-charged mission to save the planet from the destruction man has brought upon itself.

Marcie Horton has a sixth sense. Not in the “I see dead people” way, but . . . well, maybe a little. She feels a sort of knowing about certain things that can’t be explained-an intuition that goes beyond the normal. Then there was that one summer four years ago, when she connected with a long-departed spirit . . . But nothing that incredible has happened to Marcie since.

This summer, Marcie is spending time working at Angel Mounds, the archeological dig her mother heads, along with her brother, Eric, and his girlfriend, Renee. The dig is the site of an ancient indigenous civilization, and things immediately shift into the paranormal when Marcie and her teammates meet Lorraine and Zeke. The two mysterious dig assistants reveal their abilities to access the Universal Energy Field with their minds-something Marcie knows only vaguely that her brother has also had experience with. Marcie learns how our planet will disintegrate if action is not taken, and she and her team must decide if they are brave enough to help Lorraine and Zeke in their plan to save Mother Earth, her resources, and her history. It looks like the summer just got a lot more interesting.

Review

This is the second book in this series but can be read on its own.  You get to know some of the characters in the first book, The Field, and there are a few references to what Eric was working on, but nothing that would hold you back.  I don’t remember much about Marcie from the first book but would assume she was introduced since she is Eric’s sister and that we learned something about her.

All that aside, this book was quite enjoyable. The pacing was just right, the characters were interesting, and if you care about the environment and our planet, you will enjoy the information provided about fracking and other ways the planet is being harmed.  If you enjoy sci-fi/fantasy/paranormal you will probably also enjoy this book for the concepts of a fifth dimension and extraterrestrials. Some of it was a little out there for me, but I still enjoyed the characters and beings that the author brought into this story. I do think that humans have the potential to do more with their mind but haven’t really delved into the topic. This book made me think about the possibilities that are out there.  If you are into conspiracy theories, there is that angle in this book as well.  This book really does have a little bit for everyone.

This story is also about self discovery and stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying something different. It is also about friendships and doing what is right for yourself and the world.

There are two quotes that really stood out to me regarding the environment and humans in general.  I feel these are really spot on.

“Earth and her human inhabitants are already going down the path of destruction, all due to the actions of humans.”

“Earth can only absorb so much abuse before cataclysmic results occur.”

I think I would suggest reading the first book, The Field, before reading this one. While you do not have to, I feel it would give you great insight into the book, the characters, and the aspects of what the mind can do at the right level.

We give this 4 paws up.

About the Author

Tracy wasn’t always a writer, but she was always a reader. Her favorite book growing up was A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. In a weird way, her life reflects the book through odd synchronicities. She has a degree in Biology like Mrs. Murry and without realizing it she named her children Alex and Katie after Meg’s parents. (Really, it was not intentional, because that would be weird)!

Tracy uses her science background in her writing through her emphasis on environmental issues and metaphysics. Growing up, Tracy’s younger brothers called her ‘sarge’ and once when she took a personality test for a job, the evaluator said she could give a Drill Sargent a run for his money. If you need someone to boss you around, Tracy’s your gal! Tracy lives in Indianapolis.

Review

Take a journey to the Hill Country of Texas and be swept away with the love story between James and Reese.  It doesn’t hurt that he is a ruggedly handsome cowboy!

James and Reese have known each other for many years, since high school, but they never really got over their feelings for each other. Reese ends back in town and they pledge to spend the summer together with a no-strings relationship.  However, neither expected to fall in love but the path to love is not smooth or easy.

This romance is somewhat typical but there is an element of mystery surrounding some letters that around found. James and Reese also run into communication issues and it causes friction in their relationship. But what relationship doesn’t have issues?  With the help of their family and friends offering sage advice at different times, they are able to realize that maybe their destiny is with each other.

I enjoyed watching their relationship blossom while discovering nuances about each other. Sometimes I wanted to throttle both of them for jumping to conclusions without talking to the other about what was said or not said.

I would love to see the photographs that Reese took, I can only imagine the magic they might impart to a viewer. I live in Texas and know that the Hill Country is a beautiful place to get away, as long as you stay away from the larger cities and get out into the country.

This was a fun read and I wonder if her next book will feature James’ friend Finn and James’ sister, Astrid.  I’ll have to be on the lookout for the next book.  We give this 4 paws up.

Excerpt

She opened the driver’s side door, then turned to tell him good night. “Thanks for dinner.” Was that her voice sounding all breathy and wanton?

“You’re welcome. If you come out first thing in the morning, we can get an early start and go for a ride. And work on my great-great-grandfather’s mystery.”

“I like that idea.” Get in, Reese. Drive away. Instead, she brushed a leaf from his shoulder.

His full lips lowered to the corner of her mouth. The caress was gentle. Brief.

The simple, innocent kiss hit a switch inside her. One that hadn’t been tripped since their last kiss, over eleven years ago. One that other men had not managed to tap into. Her entire body warmed, sparking a shiver and a desire to stay, but she needed tonight to gather herself.

This was her chance to stay in the cottage and convince him she could take care of it. Not the start of a summer romance.

But could she manage a temporary romantic reunion?
