Author Insights

Jamie Griffin, our roguish young Irishman, made his debut in The Enigma Gamers. He appeared in the Macau high-end nightclub, adjusting the casino’s slot machines. Jamie worked as a contractor, along with his love interest Frieda. In this story, she handled the data operations side of the operation. Jamie convinced Frieda to join him on this gig for the massive payoff potential of this target-rich environment.

Julie and Juan, heads of our cyber assassin establishment technology services (CATS) team, come across Jamie while on vacation. The pair decided to enjoy a new state-of-the-art nightspot using lots of artificially intelligent-enabled components for customers. Julie spots Jamie’s covert skimming that deftly avoids the cameras and the roaming robots serving the casino guests. They chuckled at his sleight of hand, marveling at the risks the young man took.

Jamie and Frieda are key contributors to this story and its outcomes. The comments were positive so Jamie returned in The Enigma Dragon, we had an excellent opportunity to bring him back. In The Enigma Dragon. In this story, he deepens his relationship with the CATS team and again makes a big contribution to the outcome.

Ernesto, Jamie’s primary CATS contact, likes the young man, took him under his wing. Enjoy this audible extract for insight into Jamie and this story.   This was our inspiration in creating the backstory of Jamie. Readers and fans connected in different ways to Jamie. They sent emails wondering about his background and family life.  We dedicated Destiny Dreamer as the background on his early life and lessons learned as he grew up.

We encourage you to post your review and let us know if Jamie should continue to appear in our novels of the Enigma Series.

Synopsis

Jamie started life as a carefree lad in Ireland, living in a farm family. When his brother Ian was born, he vowed to show him all the best things as a big brother. They became best friends from the time Jamie taught Ian to drive a tractor. Their bonding exercises as young men was rebuilding a motorcycle from a box of greasy old parts. They traveled to learn their destiny together.

Jamie met his love Frieda as he ventured into a new career in technology as their paths crossed on a bus. The relationship blossomed into a family. The future looked bright for the young lovers.

Jamie faces emotional highs and lows as he travels. His one consistency is the bus rides to find hope for his future.

Where will his future lead him?

Review

This is a short story that follows Jamie from his teenage years to young adulthood. He lives in Ireland with his brother, Ian, and his parents, until a fateful day changes everything. He decides to escape and tries to follow his dream, meeting several young women along the way.

I think this story is about growing up and finding our path despite what fate throws in our path. Jamie has some big losses, yet he keeps moving forward and is blessed by those he meets.

This won’t take long to read but is quite enjoyable and you might find a hidden meaning that relates to your own life.

We give it 4 paws up.

Jamie actually appears in two of our novels. The Enigma Gamers and The Enigma Dragon. He is a fun character.

A story about an Irishman named Jamie just has to be good (from my point of view). And the way he handles the unexpected bumps in his life is inspiring. Good read. I recommend it.
