Review – Delusions of Chenille by Sally Dallas
Synopsis
With her criminal activities behind her, Chenille is psyched for a fresh start. The elements she truly desires in life still seem to elude her; a man who adores her, a fulfilling career, and a stable life for her son. Enter Brandon, a charismatic computer nerd who has his sights on the good life. His charm, coupled with her loneliness, lures her into his arms, and his greed filled world of cybercrime. When she is kidnapped by international thugs, she discovers Brandon’s involvement runs deep. She again finds herself in an inescapable web of her own creation, questioning how much to risk for love. The saga continues with intriguing, page-turning twists. Refreshingly free of graphic violence and erotica.

Review
What happens when you are delusional about your life and what you are owed? You get Chenille and Brandon, two unlikely characters who meet and set out to line their pockets with ill-gotten gains.
Chenille is back from Argentina now that the statute of limitations has expired on her embezzlement. She finds herself in a quandary because she can’t return to practicing law and has a young son to care for. Connecting with her brother is helpful; however, I was irritated with Chenille for assuming she owed anything from her father’s estate. She manages to land a job at Nordstrom’s that seems right up her alley. This connects her with Brandon, an IT genius, but maybe not everything is right in his world, either.
Chenille is not a likable character, but she isn’t a despicable one either. She is doing her best with the cards she has been dealt but doesn’t make the wisest decisions. This is evident in an illegal skimming scheme she involves herself in with Brandon. There should have been red flags surrounding him, but Chenille only looks out for herself until she finds herself smack dab in the middle of a more extensive illegal operation with lives at stake.
This book kept me guessing, wondering how situations would be resolved, whether they would come out unscathed, and so much more. I appreciated that she came clean with her son’s father since he was in the dark until now. Did that facilitate a potential reunion between the two? How would she get herself out of this sticky situation?
I stayed up way too late finishing this book; insomnia happens. The book has a cliffhanger, and now I wonder what she will do in the next book. Will she be on the run? Reconnect with family or loved ones? Only time will tell with the last book in this trilogy…at least I think it is a trilogy. Who knows, Chenille could find herself in more dangerous situations.
We give this book 4 paws up.
About the Author
After a successful career as a Vice President for a large international bank, I trade small business lending for creative writing. Years of corporate and entrepreneurship experience have given me a unique perspective in developing multifaceted characters: relentless, assertive women who are not deterred by adversity.
My novels focus on the strengths and vulnerabilities of independent women and the consequences of their choices. Conflicted characters who navigate the triumphs and tragedies of life with resilience and tenacity. Every incident, twist and turn, and relationship could have happened to your mother, daughter, sister, and yourself.
As the CEO of Pacific Premier Publishing, I enjoy the challenge of marketing my novels as much as I do creating them. Book sales enable me to fund charities that empower women and promote world peace. That’s how I measure my writing success.
My husband of forty-plus years and I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, camping, kayaking, skiing, fishing, and wine tasting. With three sons and four grandchildren, I am truly the most blessed person on the planet. My claim has not been verified, nor has it been disputed.
