Review – Someone To Watch Over Me by Renee Curtis

Synopsis
In a world full of cameras and scripts, the most terrifying moments are happening off-screen.
Nighttime soap actress Carmindy Welch is riding high. With a new TV series ready to launch and a glamorous press tour in New York City, her star has never burned brighter. Life is good. But the spotlight turns sinister when, after being swarmed by fans, a chilling note is found tucked in her pocket—eerily similar to the ones sent by the stalker she helped put behind bars eighteen months ago.
But is it a copycat? Or has he escaped?
Her father hires Navy SEAL Colby Lynch to protect Carmindy from the very threat she thought was gone for good. As sparks fly between them, a love story begins to bloom amid the danger. But when Colby is called back to active duty, refusing to leave her unguarded, he assembles a trusted team of operatives to keep Carmindy safe. But her stalker is always one step ahead, willing to hurt anyone close to her to fulfill his sick obsession.
Carmindy knows there’s only one way out: face this monster head-on, but doing so may mean risking everything… including her life.
A pulse-pounding romantic suspense where love and danger walk hand in hand.

Review
This new novel has a little bit of everything, especially if you enjoy romantic suspense novels.
Carmindy never expected to find love and a new television role all in the same time. However, her past is catching up with her when her stalker is released from prison and starts creating havoc for those around her.
The story starts off at a steady pace, picks up steam about halfway through, and then glides into the finish. There are so many characters to love in this novel. Depending on your mood, there is the strong protective type like Colby, Luke, and Smith. There are down to earth women like Harlow and Mimi. While we don’t get to know the cast of the televison show that well, they round out the supporting roles.
My favorite part of this novel was when Carmindy is facing her stalker head on. There are many tense moments, but we also see her resolve in trying to put this part of her past behind her so she can move forward with her life.
There is romance, not only for Carmindy, but also Harlow. There are some unresolved issues for Smith, but I am excited to read his story coming up soon.
I appreciated the strength and determination of Carmindy, but at the same time, she took a lot of risks with her life. I’m going to chalk that up to her age. She is young, and we all do things we shouldn’t have in our younger days.
This novel was intriguing and enticing, and we give it 4 paws up.
