Review

Arty and Slug are back for a new adventure! Their friendship may be unusual, especially since Arty is a betta fish, but all he wants is a friend, and Slug fits the bill.

I was amazed at the first book, and I feel like the author has outdone herself. This book is a little longer, which means more adventure for the duo. They meet some new characters in this book to bring along while they seek out new adventures.

While this book is about adventure and friendship, it also addresses feelings of loneliness and self-confidence. It is also educational as we learn a little more about hermit crabs, and Shelly is a great addition to the storyline. I like how sign language is incorporated into the book, too.

They travel to a music concert, Conchella, and I have to laugh at the musical performer’s names.

The author also leaves space for readers to add their own drawings at several points, in response to the prompts.

And the book would not be complete without the bloopers section.

This book will be a great addition to any children’s library, but make sure you grab the first one too!

We give this book 5 paws up! (or maybe I should say 5 fins?!)
