The midday sun seared Angelica’s eyes where she stood on the stoop of her house. She could make out a thin expanse of the village plaza to her left. It stood empty after the festival where Adonis had announced their engagement. A full day had passed since the Americans left. Worse, the only man she’d ever loved—Aris—had disappeared.

Her grandmother sat in her usual spot just inside, watching.

An exuberant shout from down the road drew Angelica’s attention and she waved the precocious girl to her. Zoe was a bit of a tomboy, but the youngster always seemed to have a finger on the pulse of the village.

“Have you seen Aris?”

Chris Neo was born in Cyprus then migrated to UK. After economics he studied Hypno-Psychoanalysis and practised in London clinics including Harley street. His experience in clinical ailments gave him a unique insight into the mysteries of the human heart soul and pains.
